I’ve officially entered my 28th week of pregnancy and this time it’s a boy 🙂 Not that Eric and I had any gender preferences but we are no doubt thankful to God for giving us a complete pair. I’m sure Cheryl would be thrilled to have a sibling that shares her liking for cars, trains and vehicles. And hopefully she’ll learn to be generous with her toys and share them with her little brother one day. Even the daddy can’t wait to share his liking for the outdoors with his son. But that’s still a long way to go.
Having a boy this time meant that there would be a lot of new things to learn and also a lot of new things to buy. But we have been pretty relaxed in our preparation this time. Few weeks ago, we made our first purchase and that was a new chest of drawers to store our baby’s clothes. I’ve been wanting to get some boys’ clothing to put into our new drawers but I was telling Eric that I somehow just didn’t know how to shop for boys. All the shirts and pants looked pretty much the same to me and so far I haven’t seen anything that really looked appealing. So I suggested to Eric that he should be the one to choose the boys’ clothing. But having said that, I have a feeling the job would still end up being done by me….:P
Another challenging task would be deciding the right name for our boy. Somehow, boys’ names are just not as extensive as girls’ and there’s just a handful of good names still left available to choose from. During my first pregnancy, we did choose a boys’ name that we liked (in case our first one was a boy) but unfortunately, that name had already been taken by now. Well, we still have a couple of months to decide and I know somehow God will give us the right name for this child.
With the year coming to a close, I look back at 2012’s events with so much thankfulness in my heart. It was a year that was immensely filled with God’s grace and goodness. Though a loved one passed away this year and I still miss my dad dearly, God has given me something precious to look forward to in the coming new year. Another new life will soon be born and we all can’t wait to finally meet him 🙂
We went for my regular check up today and was treated with a pleasant surprise. My obgyn told us that she’s now testing out a demo ultrasound machine and this unit enables us to see our baby in 3D. How great is that! And since it’s for demo purposes, it’s totally FOC for us! We’re truly blessed. Here’s a short video clip of it:
