One of the things my mom and I looked forward to do even before we arrived in Oregon was to visit the tulip farm. We arrived just in time to see the tulips in full bloom before the farm closes a few days later. What an appropriate way to start our sight-seeing adventure! The tulips by itself were so beautiful; but to see a whole field filled with arrays of vibrant colors was simply breathtaking.
We arrived early on a Tuesday morning at Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm which was located about 40 mins from the place we stayed. We had to drive quite a distance into the countryside before we reached the tulip farm. Having the GPS with us made our hunt so much easier. The weather on that day was PERFECT. The skies were clear and blue; making it a perfect backdrop for photo taking. Clear skies were a rare sight here in Oregon; it’s known to rain pretty often here and even if there was no rain, the skies would be filled with clouds. For the first time in my life, I saw my mom taking out her camera and started clicking away. My mom was the type of person that rarely ever touches any electronic equipment so it was fun seeing her so excited and enthusiastic that day.
Cheryl too seemed to enjoy taking in the sight. Though she couldn’t yet convey in words how she felt, we could see her looking intently at the field of tulips and trying to reach for the tulips. She even managed to pluck one or two petals without us realizing it (shhh…..). Anyway, as much as I can describe the place in words, we shall just let the pictures do justice and tell the rest of the story.
